Taylor Swift’s Join The History of Artistes Re-Recording Their Music
Taylor Swift wouldn’t be the first artiste to decide to re-record her past songs or albums but she’s taking it to a different level.
Last week, the singer/songwriter released “Taylor’s Version” of her 2008 Billboard Hot 100 top five hit “Love Story” as the lead song from her re-recorded Fearless album, coming April 9.
It’s all part of her ambitious plan to re-record every album from her Big Machine label days in an effort to wrest back control of her songs after her master recordings were sold to Scooter Braun.
But in addition to the 19 songs from the original deluxe edition of Fearless, her April release will also include “Today Was a Fairytale” from the Valentine’s Day soundtrack and six new tracks. But no one has ever taken it quite to the lengths that Swift has in store.
