Snoop Claims that East Coast Rap Had a Greater Impact

Snoop Claims that East Coast Rap Had a Greater Impact: Snoop lately established himself as an honest and forthright musician. He is a fighter for his peers and won’t let allegiances to anyone taint the truth. Snoop’s remarks about East Coast rap having a greater influence, even for him, were stunning. Nowadays, there isn’t much competition between the two coasts. However, it was all anyone talked about in the 1990s. But Snoop acknowledges merit where it is due. The renowned rapper shared some wisdom during his appearance on ESPN’s First Take.

“East Coast started hip-hop,” Snoop said. “It has the biggest impact where it was born. Where it was grown, where it was developed is always gonna be the biggest impact. Because that’s the epicenter, that’s the foundation, that’s where it began. It’s the East Coast.”

The rappers who set the groundwork for their West Coast rivals were specifically mentioned by Snoop.

“We learned from them, got our style from them. We got our swag from them, got our know how to get it together from them, our stage presence — everything from RUN-D.M.C., LL COOL J, Grandmaster Flash, to people who didn’t have no record deals. They set the foundation.”
