Nicki Minaj Signs Nana Fofie, Skeng, Rico Danna, and London Hill to Her New Label
Nicki Minaj Signs Nana Fofie, Skeng, Rico Danna, and London Hill to Her New Label: Nicki Minaj elaborated on her new label and discussed her comeback to the spotlight on last Friday’s Queen radio show.
Although Nicki stated she wasn’t ready to share the name of her label just yet, she did let listeners know the names of the first four musicians she’s signed. The first performer is Ghanaian musician Nana Fofie, who joined Nicki in the studio for her Queen Radio broadcast.
Then there’s Skeng from Jamaica, who was recently seen filming a music video with Nicki while the singer was on vacation for Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago. A remix of “Likkle Miss Remix” by Nicki and Skeng was released in September.
The other two musicians that have joined Nicki’s imprint are Bronx rapper London Hill and up-and-coming rapper Rico Danna.
“Y’all know how I do shit for people. That’s not even signed to me. Imagine what I’m going to do to the ones that signed,” Nicki said during the episode.
“When I came in this game I didn’t have no paperwork with Lil Wayne. But he had us on tour, he had us in a studio, he was getting on my mixtapes. So I understand the importance of having somebody else doing the heavy lifting for you. I understand why people are coming out and they’re so, you know, microwaveable and they’re here today and gone tomorrow, because there’s no structure. There’s no real person that believes in them. That’s like, ‘nah, I’m gonna make it my business to see you shine’. That’s why I never wanted to do a label before because I said to myself …unless I’m ready to really put these artists on I’m not gonna ruin anyone’s life.”
