Jennifer Lopez Stripper Character Threatens Lawsuit For Hustlers Movie
Jennifer Lopez Stripper Hustlers: Jennifer Lopez‘s stripper character inspiration in the movie Hustlers has threatened a lawsuit. The story of the group of strippers that band together to get back at their Wall Street clients is based on a true story that happened to ring leader Samantha Barbash and according to Variety, she’s suing to get her cut.
Samantha has pleaded guilty in 2017 to drugging her clients and stealing their credit cards which gave her five years on probation. Her story has also been published in New York Magazine and then picked up as a movie script with Jennifer Lopez playing her part.
Barbash spoke to TMZ last week and she explained that producers approached her to see if she would sign her rights. However, she says the offer was low and she was already reluctant to sign away her story, so she declined.
She also took jabs at Lopez for not meeting with her before portraying her in a feature film.
“If you’re portraying my part, the ringleader, how she’s been on every show saying, then you should have actually met the person that you’re portraying to study my mannerism.”
“My mannerism wasn’t the way she played. Yes, I’m a boss and a leader but that’s about it. I’m not cold-hearted.” “Without JLo, they wouldn’t even have a movie, to be honest. There is no storyline, it’s just Jennifer. People are going to see the movie because JLo is on a stripper pole.”
