Florida Teen Who Faked Being A Doctor Has Been Released From Prison
Malachi Love Dr Love: Malachi Love-Robinson, a Florida teen who faked being a doctor some years back has been released from prison after serving some months off his sentence.
He is said to have illegally practiced medicine out of a West Palm Beach office where he eventually treated an undercover officer and was caught. He was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison, but has reportedly just been released according to ABC News.
According to his grandfather, he was only trying to help people and only made bad choices.
“He was always trying to help people,” William McKenzie said of his grandson. “He just made some wrong choices.”
“What he was trying to do, he was trying to do for the better good and not harm anybody,” Love-Robinson’s grandmother, Rebecca McKenzie said after court. “I think he’s going to be alright in the long run.”
News outlets report Malachi Love-Robinson, known as “Dr. Love,” was released Monday, about 20 months into his 3.5-year sentence. He was given credit for time served before his sentencing. Authorities have said Love-Robinson illegally practiced medicine out of a West Palm Beach office and even treated an undercover officer.
He was separately accused of examining and defrauding an older woman out of $35,000. He previously served a year in a Virginia prison for providing false information while trying to buy a car.
Authorities have said Love-Robinson also posed as a doctor in 2015, but didn’t treat anyone and only wandered a hospital in doctor garb
