Dababy Announces Lil Wayne Collaboration
Dababy Lil Wayne Collaboration: It has been a good year for Dababy. The rapper has worked with a lot of top stars and we announced earlier, that he would be on Camila Cabello’s upcoming ‘Romance’ album, on a track titled, ‘My Oh My‘.
The North Carolina rap star has one more coming soon that he’s excited about: Lil Wayne. During a recent interview with Viva Lakoi and Angela Yee on Power 104.5 The Beat radio station (spotted at LWHQ), DaBaby revealed that he has a collaboration with Weezy arriving soon. Calling it “big,” he mentions that Lil Wayne is a “GOAT” and was a huge influence while he was growing up. Watch the clip below — DaBaby mentions the collab at the 2:40 minute mark.
There is no word where the song will appear but given that Weezy was the one to hit him up, it looks like it might be a part of an upcoming Lil Wayne album. DaBaby’s most recent guest features are on songs from Trippie Redd, Blac Youngsta and Plies.
DaBaby is now a Grammy-nominated artist, earning a nod for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, both for his song “Suge.”
He touched on the moment during a recent interview with Power 104.5 The Beat, saying, “I am Grammy-nominated, I am. It’s a beautiful thing—it’s a blessing. It’s nothing short of a blessing. It feels amazing. Been a long time coming.”
The Charlotte rapper also revealed that he and Lil Wayne have a “big” record on the way. “I got a song with Lil Wayne. That was amazing so I’m good, but there’s a whole bunch of other people I want to work with,” DaBaby told Angela Yee when asked about features on his bucket list.
