Beyoncé Set To Release ‘Black Is King’ Film On Disney+
Beyoncé Black Is King Disney+: Beyoncé has revealed plans to release a visual album titled ‘Black Is King‘. It comes exactly a year after the release of ‘The Lion King: The Gift album, which heavily inspires it.
This project will be released exclusively on Disney+ come July 31st. The official trailer was said to have been leaked by Chloe x Halle in the early hour of today. Much later, it was then on Beyonce’s site. We have provided the trailer below, at the end of this article.
“Black Is King is a celebratory memoir for the world on the Black experience. The film is a story for the ages that informs and rebuilds the present. A reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs. A story of how the people left most broken have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future.”
According to Variety, the visual album tells the story of a young king’s “transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity” as he is guided by his ancestors. Black Is King sets out to reimagine lessons of The Lion King for “today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.” t is also aimed at paying homage to the journey of black families throughout time.
“These timeless lessons are revealed and reflected through Black voices of today, now sitting in their own power,” the statement continued. “Black Is King is an affirmation of a grand purpose, with lush visuals that celebrate Black resilience and culture. The film highlights the beauty of tradition and Black excellence.”
