Ariana Grande’s Lawsuit Against Forever 21 Suffers Hit
Ariana Grande Forever 21: Ariana Grande‘s 10 million dollar suit against fashion brand, Forever 21 has suffered a major hit, owing to the latter’s bankruptcy.
New reports by The Blast confirmed that Ariana’s lawsuit problems won’t be solved anytime soon. This is because, whenever a company files for bankruptcy, all pending lawsuits remain pending until the issue is solved.
Ariana Grande alleged that Forever 21 had used her likeness to promote their clothing, without due authorization. You may recall that they had earlier approached her for a deal which she declined. This was because they couldn’t afford the fees.
The company is also accused in the suit of infringing on her copyrights by publishing images, lyrics and audiovisual clips from her copyrighted songs.
Upon discovery of the posts, Grande contacted Forever 21 about removing them. They did not remove “all of the unauthorized content” and they improperly used and profited from Grande’s influence and star power for about 14 weeks.
Grande and her lawyers are asking for a trial and damages. They are asking for a share of Forevr 21’s ill-gotten profit. They also want punitive damages, to deter them from further violation of personal and intellectual property theft.
