Nasty C Joins Def-Jam, Releases New Single, ‘There They Go’
This is an official move for the South African rapper to the US Market. Also, this deal is a joint venture between Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music Africa.
Born Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, Nasty C is the most streamed artist from south Africa on Apple Music over the past four years.
The music video for the celebratory single, ‘There They Go’, was shot in his hometown, Durban. It also doubles as the first single off his upcoming album ZULU MAN WITH SOME POWER. The album is set to drop later in the year.
The Chairman & CEO of the label, Jeff Harleston was excited about the deal and had a few things to say about the rapper.
“Nasty C is a unique and forward-thinking artist who is at the forefront of a new generation of rappers emerging from Africa,”.
According to our sources, the Def-Jam family which is known for excellence in Hip-hop are excited to welcome the rapper into their fold. They recognize that he is an international star with real vision and talent.

Nasty C in response was excited about the deal.
“It’s powerful to be a part of the Def Jam family,” he said. “It’s an iconic record label and has made the careers of many of the artists I look up to.”
