Consequence Releases Phife Dawg Assisted Track, ‘No Place Like Home’
Consequence No Place Like Home: Consequence has released a new song titled ‘No Place Like Home’. He was assisted by Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest. The Song was recorded around the same time as the last Tribe album, We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service.
“Phife and I worked on “No Place Like Home” in the same time frame as the beginning stages of the last Tribe LP. Even though he was living in The Bay during the last years of his life, we kept in touch frequently and I even brought my son, Caiden, to meet him in person while he was in New York; which lead to both of us making a cameo appearance in his last solo video,” said Consequence about the release.
“I always knew I wanted people to hear this record, but it just felt like the timing had to be right,” Consequence continued. “This year it feels right. The one thing I know about Phife is that he’s a rapper’s rapper. The best gift I could give him for his birthday this year is to let the world hear the ‘5 Foot Assassin’ once again!” The song is now out in honor of what would have been Phife’s 48th birthday.
Lyrical Excerpts[Pre-Chorus 1] Pay no attention
To the man behind the curtain
He’s a brainless, heartless, coward
With no power
That’s just another trick of his
He ain’t no wiz so don’t feed his fire
Jump in my balloon
I’ll take you higher
Take you somewhere over the rainbow

Heels clicking, here we go
Cause you already know
