Charli XCX Drops ‘Claws’ Ahead Of Album Release
Charli XCX Claws: Charli XCX has released a new single today, titled ‘Claws‘. It is from her soon to be released quarantine album, ‘How I’m Feeling Now’. The song was produced by 100 gecs’ Dylan Brady with support from Bj Burton and A.G Cook. The title of the song was interestingly picked out by fans who have been waiting on every single update about the album.
Speaking to STEREOGUM earlier this week about her upcoming ‘How I’m Feeling Now’ album, Charli details how she’s coping with writing the album.
“I’ve always been spontaneous with the way I write, but being so spontaneous with the way I release things, and putting ideas and lyrics out and asking for feedback, that definitely feels like a new skill I’ve learned.”
The album has an expected release date of May 15. It will also include the single she released earlier in the month, titled ‘Forever‘. She also supported that release with an accompanying music video which was made of footage sent to her by fans.
Charli put out a well-detailed diary entry to the fans last month. On it, she discussed details about the album. Read the excerpt from MTV below:
“What can I tell you about this album…. well, there are fewer collaborations, Chris and I have been talking about reuniting (alongside someone else), it has felt very quick to make, AG [Cook] is involved, I want it to be quite short in comparison to CHARLI, there are a lot of songs about sex and physicality,” she wrote. “There is a song about the world ending.”
