Brent Faiyaz Makes Comeback With ‘Dead Man Walking’
Brent Faiyaz Dead Man Walking: Brent Faiyaz’ most recent independent exertion Fuck the World might be a staple for bedrooms all over, yet that is not exactly enough for the capable singer.
Having recently delivered the remix to “Fuck the World (Summer in London)” featuring 2 Chainz fully expecting a deluxe reissue of the eponymous album, he reemerges again today to drop off a fresh out of the plastic new single for fans.
He reunites with Sonder producer Dpat, who contributes creation to the tune alongside Lil Rece, Jordan Ware, and Faiyaz himself.
Sonically, the melody is somewhat of a departure from Fuck the World’s live instrumentation, instead returning to his electronic-tinged work with Sonder. The singer examines his way of life as a “youthful stunna,” wrapping his trademark confession booths in his smooth songs against a consistent reverberating catch.
Building off a straightforward two-note string circle and crescendoing into a beautiful minute-long instrumental outro, the new tune is one more case of Faiyaz’ ear for lavish beats that supplement his rich falsetto.

Drop the roof and let the smoke clear
I got diamonds dancing, doing toosie slides in both ears
Dice rolling on the Las Vegas strip tonight
Slip that on and we miss the flight
F*ck a knot, I keep the guala in my shorty bag
You know she one of mine, when she tattoo that ass
I’m a lover boy
