Maggie Q Reveals She Had To Turn Down The Mission: Impossible Franchise Twice
Maggie Q Mission Impossible: Maggie Q has revealed that she had to turn down a return to the Mission: Impossible franchise, due to contractual obligations that prevented her from returning as IMF agent Zhen Llei. She had earlier appeared in 2006’s Mission: Impossible III.
The 40-year old actress, while speaking to Yahoo, indicated her keenness to return to the Mission: Impossible franchise. Currently, she has returned to the screen for a new Blumhouse thriller, called Fantasy Island.
When she was asked about her character’s possible return, this was what Maggie Q had to say.
“They wanted me back.”
“I did [Mission: Impossible III] and they wanted me back for four [2011’s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol] but I was on a show, then they wanted me back for five [2015’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation], and I couldn’t do it because I was contracted.”
The actor did not state the shows that prevented her return. However, we are aware that she was starring in the CW hitman show, Nikita from 2010-2013. She was also lead in Stalker, between 2014-2015.
Currently, Q is working on a secret project that has marked similarities with mission impossible but female-driven.
She added, “I think if you’re capable of [doing your movie] you should push for it.”
Excitedly, she notes that she wouldn’t mind working with Tom Cruise again. She even refers to him as the best co-star ever.
“He’s one of the most professional people I have ever worked with in Hollywood and there is a reason he is at the level he is at,” she said.
